Compostable Plastic Bags

We are pleased to introduce the EnviRo 6400 range of biodegradable films that meet ASTM D6400 (American Society for Testing Materials) standards for compostability. EnviRo 6400 film is water resistant and durable in normal use. It degrades by microbial action in the presence of organic material, heat and moisture.

EnviRo 6400 films contain PLA resin derived from corn and other non-petroleum material. They can therefore contribute to a sustainable product program. These bags are recyclable but should not be mixed in the polyethylene recycling waste stream since the material is not compatible with polyethylene. Certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI).

THE COMPOSTING PROCESS
Waste materials that are organic in nature, such as plant material, food scraps, compostable plastics and paper products, are increasingly being recycled through composting. These materials are put through a composting and/or digestion system to control the biological process to decompose the organic matter and kill pathogens. The resulting stabilized organic material is then recycled as mulch or compost for agriculture or landscaping.
